Hypnotherapy
Your mind is made up of two parts.
Your conscious mind is responsible for your critical judgement, logic and willpower. Your subconscious mind control’s your body functions such as heartbeat, breathing and digestion. This also where your habits, memories, thoughts and emotions are stored.
Your subconscious mind is responsible for healing your body, your immune system, your stress management and your self esteem and confidence.
You may be struggling to make a change at a purely conscious level because you subconscious mind does not understand willpower and logic and is more powerful than your conscious mind.
It can be like having an argument with yourself. e.g.. you may say to yourself “I don`t want that bar of chocolate, yes I do, no I don`t, have it, don`t have it”. A part of you wants to change, but a part of you does not!. This is a disagreement between the two parts of your mind.
As a skilled and experienced hypnotherapist I can utilize a range of techniques to communicate directly with your subconscious mind, without logical thought getting in the way. Working together we can change the subconscious part of your mind so that the two parts of your mind agree and work together for your benefit.
That stops you feeling as if you are arguing or fighting with yourself.
So by communicating with your subconscious mind, you will be able to understand why you behave a certain way and you will be able to make the changes you want in order to achieve a certain goal, without using willpower.
The results can be quick as hypnotherapy gets to the root of the problem, eliminating hours of costly and sometimes painful counselling sessions.
Is it safe?
Absolutely. In 1955 the British Medical Association approved hypnosis as a valid medical treatment.
What does it feel like?
You remain awake and fully aware of everything around you. You feel pleasantly calm and deeply relaxed, like the moment just before you drift off to sleep. When the session is over, you will feel revitalised and relaxed. As a result you will be calmer and you will sleep better.
What if I get stuck in hypnosis?
You won’t. No matter how relaxed you are, you remain in control at all times and you can stop and come out of hypnosis whenever you wish.
Will I be under the hypnotist’s power, as it seems on TV?
Your subconscious will not let you do anything you don’t want to do. Stage hypnotists cannot make you do anything against your will, and I am there to help you overcome your issues.
How many sessions will I need?
That depends on your issue and how motivated you are to make a change. The average number of sessions is 4. How many you may need will be discussed at your consultation.
